History of the house
Blumenhaus is a Märkisches Mittelflurhaus — the typical farmhouse type of the Brandenburg region from the 15th to the 19th century. Gable-facing Breite Straße, with visible timber framing, clay-stake walls and an eventful history.
As a listed building, it preserves traces of more than 150 years — from the original farmhouse through Velten's industrialisation to the present day.

Velten — discover the Ofenstadt
Velten is much more than a suburb of Berlin: as the "Ofenstadt" (Stove Town), the place was an important centre for tiled stoves in the 19th century. 42 factories produced the famous white Velten tiles for export as far as America.
Today, the Oven and Ceramics Museum, the Töppertour and Bernsteinsee lake invite exploration. Berlin is about 30 minutes away.
